# see sha256 checksum for rhel7.4 above in this reply Get-filehash c:\temp\rhel-server-7.4-x86_64-dvd.iso -Algorithm SHA256 # since you're using Oracle Virtualbox, probably on windows. ![]() ![]() To check the sha256 sum in windows, open powershell and use this (assuming your install DVD iso is in c:\temp\ as below, otherwise change the path):.If you have any doubt on which file you have, re-download the one matching the sha256 sum (listed above). If by chance you are using just the boot ISO to attempt to load it, that disk does not contain everything to load RHEL.(no need to burn an image to a physical DVD, no need to use a flash drive) Check the sha256 sum of the RHEL Server iso for 2 reasons, 1) to make sure your Binary DVD is not corrupted and 2) that you are not inadvertently attempting to use a boot dvd.Since you are using Oracle VirtualBox and intend to install RHEL from a DVD ISO, ![]() Red Hat's Developer website has instructions specifically for Virtualbox (and you may have already seen it) However, one thing overall is to make sure you're using the Binary DVD and not a boot disk, and to make sure the DVD you downloaded is valid (you can check it, I have instructions here). Please bear with me, I may cover some of what you've already done.
